100 years of law studies for women
1919–21th century
It was not until 1919 that law and political science studies were opened up to female students; the path into the professional world was rocky for female graduates.
After women had already been admitted to study at the Faculty of Philosophy in 1897 and at the Faculty of Medicine in 1900, law and political science studies were opened to female students only in April 1919. However, the number of female students initially remained low (approx. five percent) and in the first ten years, only a total of 76 women graduated.
