On the occasion of the 90th birthday of Eric Kandel, the Medical University of Vienna and the University of Vienna invited to a festival for the researcher, humanist and Nobel laureate on November 7, 2019.
We owe Eric Kandel fundamental insights into the functioning of the human brain. In 1994 he was appointed Honorary Doctor of the University of Vienna. In 2000, he received the Nobel Prize in Medicine for the discovery that changes in the strength of connections between nerve cells are the basis for learning in the brain.
