On April 5, 1522, the aged Primus Bernecker died.
Born around 1438, Bernecker matriculated in Vienna in the summer term 1458 and received his bachelor's degree in 1462 and his Magister artium degree in 1469. Between 1470 and 1502 Bernecker lectured regularly at the Faculty of Arts and was elected dean in the winter term 1498/99. In the summer term 1500, Bernecker - by then already a senior member of the faculty - stood in for the absent dean Fridberger as vice dean. In addition, Bernecker also pursued studies at the Theological and Juridical Faculties. After his installation as canon at St. Stephen's in 1504, Bernecker gradually withdrew from faculty business.
