The Department of Economic and Social History (Institut für Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte, WISO) at the University of Vienna was founded in 1922 by Alfons Dopsch as a seminar for economic and cultural history and is celebrating its hundredth anniversary in 2022. The exhibition "100 years of WISO: research - study - live" at the University library Vienna was opened on October 13, 2022. It offers an overview of the history of the institute over the past 100 years. It focuses on research, teaching, studies, public activities and selected biographies of former graduates.
